If you haven't seen on The Student For Life's Instagram page, we hosted a panel discussion that was centered on mental health and underrepresented and underserved communities. I was joined by Kimberly Griffin and Ryan Tran to discuss this topic. So who are the panelists that participated?
Kimberly Griffin

A native of Chicago, IL, Kim is a mental health professional whose primary goal is to help individuals live a healthy, happy and purposeful life.
Kim's goal in life is to address the social needs that impinge on public mental health care in her community. It is important that she helps incorporates community strategies to improve and enhance our neighborhoods. Kim's mission is to work with other community-based organizations, policymakers, health care financers, and entities to identify and implement solutions and ways to help better the disparities of mental health in underprivileged communities. Creating affordable mental health centers and implementing a healthy and safe environment for individuals is critical. Furthermore, to have a place where beneficial help and assistance will add to a better quality of life and will be dynamic.
Ryan Tran
Ryan is an associate marriage and family therapist (AMFT), who has earned his Masters in Counseling from University of Phoenix, while pursuing his doctorate degree in Industrial/Organization (I/O) Psychology from Capella University.Also, Ryan is a private practitioner who works with underserved and underrepresented populations of all backgrounds.Ryan has experience in working with children, families, couples and adults, while being a certified life coach who works with adults who want to advance in their careers.
